News from Week 5
Hello from Lake Potanipo!
We’ve officially reached the halfway point of the summer, and camp feels as vibrant as ever. On Sunday, we said goodbye to our First Session campers and welcomed all of our season campers’ families for Visiting Day. We loved seeing so many of you at our ice cream + soccer watch party. On Monday, we welcomed our Second Session campers, who arrived ready to jump into bunk life, make new friends, and become part of the Tevya bubble. We can’t wait to see all that’s in store for them in the weeks ahead.

Younger Tsofot Counselor + Swim Coordinator Years at Camp: 10

What is your favorite part of being a counselor?
Being a counselor has allowed me to see camp from a new view. It's opened my eyes to so much behind the scenes and gives me a new appreciation for camp.

What do you love about being on Swim Staff?
I love swim staff because I get to meet campers outside of my bunk. Swim staff is such a tight-knit group and we have so much fun working together!

6th Grade Girls

Learning Flexibility + Resilience
Sometimes camp brings unexpected changes, and this week our older Olot campers showed just how resilient they are. After two bunks combined for Second Session, the girls embraced the change with flexibility, and open hearts. They're already loving being together as one age group, and it's been wonderful to watch new friendships grow and the excitement build in their new shared bunk.

Our BTC campers have been leading flag each morning and evening - they pick songs for the camp and have brought a lively spirit to the moment!

- We gathered as a community on Tisha B’Av for a beautiful and reflective service led by Birya.

- Friday was the Yahrzeit of Michael Jeser z”l (TC ’91). Michael left a lasting legacy at camp and his Yahrzeit was observed by his daughter, Leni, and niece, Chloe.
- TNPC (Thursday Night Prank Club), a long-standing tradition at Tevya, made “Commonality Tables.” Campers were assigned to special tables and had to figure out what they had in common! Some were easy like the “Max Table” or “Needham Mega-Table,” while others were more difficult, like “Same Zodiac Sign” or “Live in Towns That Start With A!”
