Each summer we are fortunate to have so many dedicated professionals working together to create the magic of camp. From Head Counselors to Department Heads to Office Staff to the Health Center and more, we are grateful to everyone who makes camp run smoothly while supporting campers, teens, and counselors. While we welcome new people to our team each year, we are thrilled to have so many familiar faces returning summer after summer. We are excited to introduce to our talented Leadership Team for the 2026 camp season.
Debbie Dylan: Assistant Director, Programming This is my eighth summer at Camp Tevya. I love getting to experience the magic of camp through the eyes of each camper every summer! During the off season, I live in West Hartford, CT with my husband and two teenage sons. In my off-season life, I consult for nonprofits. I can’t wait to spend another summer on Lake Potanipo!
Rachael Kaplan: MESH (Mental, Emotional + Social Health) Coordinator This is my fifth year working at Tevya. I love how coming to camp feels like coming home (even though I hadn’t been to a Cohen Camp since 1995!) During the school year I am a school adjustment counselor at the Newton Public Schools. I live in Needham, Massachusetts.
Michelle Wilen: Office Manager This is my seventh summer at camp as the office manager. In the off season, you will find me in the Cohen Camps office as Tevya’s Registrar. My two favorite parts of working at camp are seeing the joy that camp provides and working with an amazing team! I live in Ashland, Massachusetts.
Callum Whalley: Olim Head Counselor I have been working at Tevya since 2018. I started off as a Tel Chai counselor and then moved into a Kadima leadership role. In 2022 I transitioned to the Head Counselor team. My favorite part about camp is working with such an inspirational, dedicated team of people who give their heart and soul for the campers. I love spending time with my campers, counselors and staff and hearing of how camp has made a special impact on their lives. In the off season, I am a class teacher in an elementary school. I teach 10 and 11 year olds in all subjects at school. When not in school, I love to spend time walking along the coast, catching up with friends and going on holidays. I am from Wales which is a country within the UK. Wales is over 3,132 miles away from camp but it feels like home as soon as I step foot off the plane. No matter how far away you live, camp always brings people together.
Adina Kurzman: Olot Head Counselor This is my fifth summer as Olot Head Counselor and my 14th summer at Tevya. I am so excited to be back this summer to help spread the magic of camp to all the campers. I love watching their independence grow, friendships form, and lifelong memories being made.
In the off season, I live in Framingham, Massachusetts with my husband, 2 kids, and 3 dogs. I work as a preschool teacher which gives me the flexibility to be at camp for the summer. I look forward to another wonderful summer at Tevya and can’t wait to finally be back on the shores of Potanipo.
Andrew Bluestein: Tsofim Head Counselor Hello there! This will be my 15th summer at camp. I was a camper, counselor, head of land sports and last summer I helped with Kadima (CIT program). Looking forward to another monumental summer in Brookline NH! I’m originally from Sharon MA, but I now reside in Quincy.
Emily Gunzburg: Tsofot Head Counselor Hi! I’m Emily, and this will be my 13th summer in 03033. I started as an older Ole in 2011, then became a CIT, counselor, swim instructor, and Assistant Programming Director for two summers. I’m so excited to return as the Tsofot Head Counselor. During the school year, I teach 3rd grade in Manchester, Connecticut. I can’t wait to reunite with my summer family and dive back into Lake Potanipo!
Drew Steinberg: Bogrim Head Counselor
This will be my 16th summer on the shores of Lake Potanipo! Over the years, I’ve worn many hats at camp—bunk counselor, Dor L’Dor counselor, waterfront department head, boat driver, and now Bogrim Head Counselor. It’s amazing how camp evolves while keeping its heart the same. During the year, I work in international recruitment for tech companies.
Rachel Scherzer: Bogrot Head Counselor This will be my third year back at camp after a break of nearly 25 years and I could not be more excited to spend another summer at Lake Potanipo! I am delighted that this will be my second year as Bogrot Head Counselor and my ninth summer at Camp Tevya. It has been thrilling to reconnect with many Tevya alumni over the past year and I look forward to working with this amazing community.
During the year I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with my 3 children and a Bernadoodle named Bodhi. In my professional life, I am a nurse and educator and currently work as a free-lance healthcare writer. My favorite hobbies are hiking, running and skiing!
Erika Lilienfeld: Head of Teen Leadership + Development I am so excited for my second summer at Tevya! I grew up at a Jewish camp in the Poconos, and that summer home shaped my love for community, tradition, and Judaism. I can’t wait to learn all about what makes Tevya your summer home! I live in Newton, MA, and I am a full-time Jewish Learning Guide at Temple Beth Shalom.
Melissa Krochmal: Head of Arts + Crafts I’m excited to be spending my 13th summer at Camp Tevya—and my first as Head of Arts + Crafts! After growing up here as a camper, CIT, and counselor, it’s incredibly special to return in this new role and share the magic of Tevya with my own children. I’m a graphic designer with a passion for all things creative and hands-on. During the year, I live in Wayland, MA with my husband and our three kids.
Galia Kovesh: Head of the Israel Delegation (Rosh Mishlachat) Shalom! I’m Galia from Yuvalim in northern Israel. This will be my eighth year at Camp Tevya, and each summer feels as exciting as the first. I was Head of Performing Arts for two years and have served as Head of the Israeli Delegation for the past five. I’m a rehabilitation therapist and lead a program that helps people return to life and work after physical or mental challenges. I also have a deep love for theater and have worked as a director. I can’t wait to see you all!
Jon Fass: Head of Land Sports This will be my 17th summer at Camp. I attended camp as a camper and a counselor for 11 years (1991-2001), and I am returning to Camp as the Head of Land Sports for my fifth summer. My favorite part of Camp is the community piece – in that campers, counselors and Leadership Staff have the opportunity to form meaningful relationships and grow together and as a group. In the off season I live in Easton, Massachusetts and I work as a school guidance/adjustment counselor for the East Bridgewater Public Schools. In addition, I run a small business known as FassForward Coaching where I work as an executive function coach. I act as a travel basketball coach for both of my sons’ teams, and act as President of Easton Youth Basketball.
Erick Carriola: Head of Media This is my second summer at Tevya, and I’m excited to be here! I’m passionate about telling stories through a lens and look forward to sharing my eight years of experience photography and videography with the campers. My goal is to help them find their voice as artists and bring it to life through visual storytelling.
Mario Pecoraro: Head of Outdoor Adventure I’m a United States Air Force veteran, avid outdoorsman, and rock climber. While I was never a camper myself, I’ve come to really value camp life and the opportunity to work with new people each summer. The most rewarding part of leading Outdoor Adventure is seeing campers connect with nature. We cook, climb, hike, fish, and camp out together. By the time camp begins this summer, I will have earned my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a focus in conservation. This is my second year at Camp Tevya.
Sam Bromiley: Head of Tennis I was born in UK and now live in Melbourne, Australia. I’ve been at camp for 4 years as a bunk counselor and worked on Tennis staff. Last year, I was a DLD counselor. I’m excited for a summer of games, competitions and a thriving camp culture. See you all soon!
Kache’ Mumford: Head of Performing Arts This is my first summer at Camp Tevya, and I’m so excited to join the camp community! I’m a theatre educator, director, published poet, and drama therapist who loves helping young artists build confidence through creativity and performance. During the year, I work in theatre education and youth arts programming, directing productions and teaching students from elementary school through college. I’ve also worked with organizations supporting neurodiverse youth and love creating joyful, inclusive spaces where every camper can shine. I can’t wait to bring theatre games, storytelling, music, and lots of camp energy to Tevya this summer!
Arielle Welch: Head of the Waterfront I have spent many years at camp, starting with 7 years as a camper, 1 year as a CIT, and 20 years on staff, for a total of 29 summers! My favorite part about camp is that it awakens my soul and I seek to share that light with others! I am a New Hampshire Jew! Camp Tevya helped shape my Jewish identity as a child, and Yoga brought me back to it as an adult. In the offseason, I am beginning a new career in real estate in addition to being the owner and primary teacher at Nahar Yoga LLC, teaching Hebrew School, swimming & coaching alpine ski racing when I’m not cheering for my kids in their myriad of activities!
Health Center
We understand that the health and well-being of your child are of utmost importance to you, and we share that sentiment wholeheartedly. Our dedicated and highly trained team of medical professionals is here to ensure that your child receives the best possible care throughout their stay at camp. With a deep commitment to their safety and well-being, our compassionate staff is ready to address any health concerns, provide necessary medical attention, and offer support whenever needed.
Dr. Lee Marks: Health Center Doctor I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and spent virtually every summer of my youth at overnight camp. As I progressed through camp, I went from camper, to CIT, to counselor, and then the waterfront director for several summers. My past two summers were spent as the full time Camp Doc at a camp in Pennsylvania. I am board certified in Emergency Medicine and have spent most of my professional career at Level 1 Trauma Centers, working in both the Pediatric and Adult Emergency Departments. I also ran Emergency Medicine Residency Programs to help train those physicians wanting to specialize in Emergency Medicine. When the summer is over, I live in Annapolis, Maryland with my Black Lab (Maya) and my Sweetie (who I met while we both were teaching swimming at camp); and I am an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner for pilots. This will be my second summer at Camp Tevya, and I am very excited to become part of the Tevya family and spirit.
Rachel Sarasohn: Health Center Coordinator + Nurse Practitioner I’m a pediatric nurse practitioner and mom to three energetic boys! This is my 13th summer on Lake Potanipo, and camp holds a very special place in my heart—I even met my husband here. I’m looking forward to another great season as Health Care Consultant, organizing the health center, supporting our amazing staff, and staying connected with campers and their families all summer long.
