First-Time Campers
Ready? Set? Camp!
Welcome to your first summer at Camp Pembroke!
Everyone has a first summer here, so we know some of what you’re feeling: excitement and maybe a little nervousness. But don’t worry: you’ll feel you are a part of the Pembroke sisterhood right away!
We start each session with lots of games, both as a whole camp and as a bunk. Campers all have lots of new friends by dinnertime the first day. Plus, at meals we’ll assign each camper to a table with kids of all ages, so everyone will get to know each other together. Everyone gets matched as a Big Sister/Little Sister, so you’ll have your own special friend who can introduce you to camp traditions, too.
We recommend that even first-time campers sign up for a regular session. But if you–or your parents–want to dip a toe in more gently, please check out the two-week option for younger first-time campers.
First-Timer Welcome Grants
Every first-time camper receives an automatic Welcome Grant of $250 off each regular session. You may also qualify for an additional grant through the OneHappyCamper program. Explore our Tuition Resources, including Cohen Camps financial assistance.

Taste of Pembroke
Monday, July 22 - Sunday, August 4, 2024
We recommend that even first-time campers sign up for a regular session. But sometimes campers–or parents–want to dip a toe in more gently, so we also offer a 2-week Taste of Pembroke for younger first-time campers. It’s the perfect way for new campers to ease into the overnight camp experience.
Taste of Pembroke campers are fully immersed in regular camp programming: you’ll participate in all camp activities, including regular daily programming, electives, special events, tournaments and game days, evening programming, Shabbat and, throughout it all, our very special Pembroke sisterhood.
The Taste of Pembroke experience is available to new campers entering 2nd through 5th grade in the September after camp. Space is limited! Interested? Please contact Co-Director Amy Coran to learn s’more: acoran@cohencamps.org or 781.489.2070.
