Need-Based Financial Assistance

The Cohen Camps strive to make the Jewish camping experience accessible and available to as many families as possible. Many institutions in the Jewish community make this a priority, too. Financial aid and scholarships are available from many different resources including synagogues, local Federations, private funders, and the Cohen Camps. We invite you to explore the following resources and to call the office at 781.489.2070 for support.

Cohen Camps Scholarships
NEED-BASED SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

The Cohen Camps and Camp Tel Noar's Sharon Lasky Scholarship Fund offer partial tuition assistance to families based on financial need. We believe that the Jewish summer camp experience should be available for every Jewish child, regardless of ability to pay. We allocate tuition assistance using a fee scale based on family size, income, and expenses, and require a current tax return. Families must reapply for assistance each year.

Financial Aid funds are limited, so we recommend families apply and submit their Financial Aid application as soon as possible. You may request to apply for Cohen Camps Financial Aid when completing the camper application. Once your camper is enrolled, we will email you the application and directions. Please contact the Cohen Camps office at 781.489.2070 with any questions or to request an application at a later date.

The Scholarship Committee will only consider applications where a camper's deposit has been paid.

CJP, Boston's Jewish Federation, provides additional funding to the Cohen Camps for us to allocate to families receiving Cohen Camps Financial Aid who also live in CJP’s catchment area. Amounts are limited and are awarded using the same Cohen Camps Financial Aid application criteria. We encourage you to apply early to receive the maximum possible aid from this source as well.

Additional Jewish community financial assistance
NEED-BASED COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Many Jewish Federations, synagogues, and other Jewish community organizations provide needs-based financial aid to help families pay for camp. The following list highlights some of the organizations that have supported Cohen Camps families in the past.  We encourage you to reach out to organizations and synagogues directly to explore your options. Please do so as early as possible, because these funds are often limited.

If you discover any resources we should add to this list, please let us know!
